DREAM JOB! French fry lovers wanted with a passion for deep-fried dishes

If we can help you land the food dream job of your life, we’ll obviously do so with love. Have you already applied to taste and test restaurants, candy, wine or cheese but just missed out? No worries, because another dream job is already on the horizon. ProFri (the Association of Professional Fryers) is urgently looking for French fry ambassadors.

‘An ambassador who can passionately champion their pride in frying’, that’s what the association is looking for. And with an enormous love for deep-fried snacks such as the XL frikandel, cheese bitterballen and croquette burger, that task is a piece of cake, right? Due to the coronavirus crisis, unhealthy food has increasingly come under scrutiny, and according to ProFri, a great many misconceptions about deep-fried dishes have also been spread. ProFri’s aim is to work with the ambassadors to provide a counterweight to all the negative stories about frying.
Time for change
“It’s high time ProFri made itself heard. The National Prevention Agreement that the government and the market concluded is having an increasingly negative impact on our industry. Although fry shops account for only a small share of total Dutch consumption, our sector is being made the scapegoat,” says ProFri director Frans van Rooij. “As ProFri has often pointed out; our industry is of course not the problem, but we are happy to think along about solutions. But naturally, all the dogmas about our industry must first be put aside.” And that is precisely why the ambassadors are needed.
